Greenwood Baptist Church

This project included acreage clearing and earthwork, detention pond, landscaping, paving and erection of new 28,000 square foot building. The building is a pre-engineered structural steel with a replica watches standing seam and wall panels on three sides. The front wall is brick and stucco with cast stone accents. The entry at the front has architectural shingle roofing and 30" diameter columns. The front facade also features accent lighting and storefront windows. The worship center will seat 500 in the congregation and 50 in the choir. It has 18' ceilings in the congregation area. All lighting in the worship center is recessed and centrally controlled. The adult classroom area houses 13 classrooms and the youth area is a large open space which can be divided into two smaller rooms using an operable wall system. The children's area is decorated with bright primary colors with accented floor tiles. Each room has their own clean-up stations with sinks. Some of the rooms connect to a shared bathroom for added convenience. This building also houses offices of the church. The office suite is located inside a side entryway and contains a reception area, pastor's office, music minister's office, youth pastor's office, two meeting areas, finance director's office and copy work station. This project presented unique challengers due to its large occupancy requiring an automatic fire sprinkler system with a private fire tank. The tank and pump ensure adequate water volume and pressure in the event of a fire.
